Balasaheb Thorat: Give journalists status of frontline workers and vaccinate them on priority

Maharashtra Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat on Tuesday requested CM Uddhav Thackeray that journalists be given the status of ''Frontline Workers'' and vaccinated immediately. In this regard Thorat has written a letter to Mr Thackeray.

The states of Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha have already decided to vaccinate journalists. Thorat has given a letter to the Chief Minister demanding that the state government should take a positive decision in this regard as soon as possible. Therefore, an important decision is now likely to be taken by the state government regarding vaccination of journalists in the state.

You are taking care of Maharashtra with utmost restraint during the Corona crisis. You have made many useful decisions. Under your leadership, Mahavikas Aghadi is working for the benefit of Maharashtra. Journalists have to step out of their homes to bring us news. They are at a higher risk of contracting the COVID19 infection. We demanded that all journalists be given the status of frontline workers and should be vaccinated on priority..

I am of the view that all these journalists should be given frontline worker status and vaccinated immediately. The governments of Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh have taken the decision. However, we should make a positive decision in this regard as soon as possible, Thorat said in a letter.
