Big news for SRPF! 15-year condition for transfer cancelled

A meeting was held at the Ministry today under the chairmanship of Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil on the issues of State Reserve Police personnel. Environment and Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray was also present at the meeting. In this meeting, it has been decided to cancel the condition of 15 years of service required for transfer of SRPF jawans in the district police force.

Earlier, the condition for transfer of SRPF personnel was 15 years. It has been decided to do it for 12 years now. Also, after the transfer in the district police force, it has been decided to decrease the duty period in the district police headquarters from 5 years to 2 years. Aditya Thackeray has thanked Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil for the heartening decision he has taken for SRPF personnel.

Aditya Thackeray was constantly pursuing this matter. At his request, a committee was also constituted on the question of SRPF jawans.

A decision in this regard was taken in today's meeting on the recommendation of this committee. The decision has met the long-standing demand of SRPF personnel and will facilitate SRPF personnel along with their duties, said Minister Aditya Thackeray.

SRPF forces are continuously operating in the state. The jawans of this force are always at the forefront of maintaining law and order along with the regular police personnel. The inter-district transfer rules for working employees previously had a ten-year term limit. However, during the tenure of the previous government, they have changed the rules to fifteen years. As a result, resentment and dissatisfaction has spread among SRPF personnel across the state. Therefore, there was a constant demand that the decision should be taken in the same manner as before.
