Bombay HC refuses to extend Arun Gawli’s parole

Former Don turned politician Arun Gawli's daughter Yogita tied the knot with Marathi actor Akshay Waghmare in a intimate ceremony on May 8 in Gawli's stronghold in Mumbai the Dagdi Chawl.

The Nagpur bench of Bombay high court has refused to extended the parole of underworld don Arun Gawli. The court has ordered Gawli to surrender to Navi Mumbai's Taloja Jail.

Arun Gawli had applied for extension of parole as he didn't violate any of the lockdown rules. However, the court ruled that parole could not be extended on the grounds of good behavior or non-compliance with the rules. The bench also said that there was no legal provision to increase parole.

As a result, Arun Gawli will have to return to jail. Gawli, who is serving a life sentence in the 2007 Kamlakar Jamsandekar murder case.
