COVID-19: 132 cases registered by Maharashtra Cyber Police for spreading fake news

The Maharashtra Cyber Police have registered 132 cases in the last few days with increase in fake news, hate and communal content over coronavirus on social media. 

According to the police, several fake messages are being circulated on social media platforms which are creating panic among the citizens.

According to the Maharashtra Cyber Police, WhatsApp is the most misused platform followed by Facebook.

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in India has climbed to 5734, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
