COVID-19: BMC conducts door-to-door survey on senior citizens

In order to protect the senior citizens from getting infected by Coronavirus, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) health workers conducted door-to-door survey to identify those vulnerable to contract the infection.

In the last two days the team conducted the survey in Mumbai on 31,872 senior citizens in the last two days. Out of these, 4,312 were patients of blood pressure, asthma and diabetes. Some of them were also detected with low oxygen levels and were sent to non-Covid hospitals for oxygen therapy.

The development comes as the pandemic has mostly hit the elderly with co-morbidity conditions.

It was carried out by 2 community health workers and 1 ASHA worker in the city.
