COVID-19: Central team experts asks Pune to take measures to bring down mortality rate

The number of coronavirus cases is increasing rapidly in Pune district as the administration is struggling hard to contain the spread. 

On Tuesday members of a visiting central team of experts asked the Pune district administration to take measures to bring down the COVID-19 mortality rate.

Kunal Kumar, chief of the three-member team held a review meeting with the officials of the district administration where they took stock of the COVID-19 situation in Pune, which has seen a upward trend in the coronavirus cases in the last few weeks.

The chief of the team emphasised on treating COVID-19 patients as per protocols set by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

As per the release the team instructed the district administration should find out the reason behind the present mortality rate and take necessary steps to bring it down to zero.

Medical officers of private hospitals also shared their experiences and views on COVID-19 with the Central team of experts.

So far, Pune district has recorded more than 74,000 coronavirus cases and over 1,700 deaths.
