COVID-19: KEM hospital staff protest against management after hospital worker's death

Maharashtra is one the worst affected state by coronavirus with Mumbai having the maximum number of cases. Amid the rising cases, staffers of KEM hospital on Tuesday launched a protest outside the hospital premises against the management.

The protest was held against the Dean of the hospital, following the death of a hospital worker earlier on Monday. Hospital workers alleged that the Dean made scathing attacks against the workers, accusing them of taking their salaries without doing any work.    

With 1,430 persons testing positive for COVID-19 in Mumbai on Monday as of 6 pm, the city's tally surged to 31,789.

Maharashtra alone has 36 percent caseload of the total confirmed cases in the entire country. It has reported 52,667 cases and 1,695 fatalities, followed by Tamil Nadu with 17,082 cases and Gujarat with 14,460 cases.
