COVID-19 Lockdown: MNS helps to conduct wedding of a couple after banquet hall cancels their venue last minute

Amid the surge in COVID-19 cases and deaths in Maharashtra, the state government on Friday extended the ongoing restrictions till May 15. The restrictions that were imposed to curb the infections were intially in place till May 1. According to a statement issued by the Chief Secretary of the state, the decision has been taken as Maharashtra continues to be threatened with the spread of COVID-19.

The Curbs imposed by the tate government includes, 'Weddings can have 25 people in attendance. Such ceremonies must be conducted as a 'single event in a single hall, not extending beyond 2 hours'. If found in violation, the people responsible will have to cough up Rs 50,000 fine.'

In fear of action by the government many banquet hall owners are rejecting bookings for weddings. One such incident took place during the wedding of Sawant-Bhosale and Parab in Mumbai. The marriage ceremony of Prasad Sawant Bhosale and Asmita Parab was to be held on April 28 at Sahyadri Vidya Mandir in Bhandup.

In this regard, both the families had printed wedding cards and had sent out invites. But before the wedding the Sahyadri Vidya Mandir staff informed that it was not possible for the family to get the hall on the scheduled date, keeping in mind the rules of the government.

So the question for both families was what to do next. The family rushed to the local MNS branch president Sunil Narkar.
This time, however, considering the seriousness of the situation, the MNS, rushed to help the family. And for the first time ever, the marriage ceremony was held at MNS Rajgad branch in the presence of 25 people as per government rules. Regarding the wedding, MNS secretary Sachin More said that the MNS rushed to the help of the bride and groom's family at the last minute.
