COVID-19: Nana Patole demands door-to-door vaccination drive, writes to CM Thackeray

Vaccinations in various countries have shown that vaccination is effective in preventing the spread of corona. A large scale vaccination campaign has also been launched in Maharashtra. But due to the strict restrictions imposed by the state government, it is becoming difficult for the general public to go to the vaccination center and get vaccinated.

In rural areas, the number of vaccination centers are less and far away, making it difficult for people to travel to the center to get vaccinated. After 1 month, all those above 18 years of age will be vaccinated. At present the covid cases are rising rapidly which increases the risk of infection at vaccine centers due to overcrowding.

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole has demanded that the state government should undertake a 'door-to-door corona vaccination campaign' by removing all these problems in vaccination drive. Patole has written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in this regard.

The letter states, “Our system is working at all levels to fight the virus. However, vaccination has proven to be an effective weapon worldwide to overcome corona. A small country like Israel has done just that. The number of corona cases has been curtailed due to large scale vaccination campaigns by the United States, Britain and other countries. Maharashtra has also taken the lead in vaccination in the country and has vaccinated more than 1 crore citizens. Considering that a large number of manpower will be required to carry out this vaccination campaign, the help of government hospital staff, private hospital staff and NGOs can be availed. A similar nationwide campaign was launched to eradicate the polio epidemic. If the corona vaccine is given at home, it will be a great success in controlling the number of corona patients," Patole said.
