An oxygen tanker leakage incident was reported at the South Goa District Hospital on Tuesday. The hospital has COVID-19 patients. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot. No casualties were reported and the leakage was plugged within a short span of time, officials said.

"I am not aware of technical glitches but somehow, some bolt had come up, but it is now under control. Nothing to worry about at all," South Goa collector Ruchika Katyal told news agency ANI.

"A minor oxygen leakage occurred at the South Goa district hospital (SGDH) in Margao on Tuesday afternoon when the gas was being filled in the main storage tank on the campus from a tanker, but there is no casualty," said a police official.

According to reports, the medical oxygen leaked when the gas was being transferred to the main tank of the hospital from a tanker. "The leakage was plugged within a few minutes," he said.

The South Goa district hospital is one of the biggest COVID-19 facilities in Goa. The district officials visited the incident site and said that a report will be submitted to the state government.

Goa on Monday reported 2,804 new cases of coronavirus which took the overall tally of the state to 1,21,650.
