COVID-19 Pune: PMC issues revised lockdown guidelines

The Maharashtra government on Friday once again announced strict restrictions in the state as the threat of Delta Plus variants of the Corona has increased in the state. Now, on this background, the Pune Municipal Corporation has also announced new rules and regulations under which all shops will be allowed to remain open from 7 am to 4 pm from Monday to Friday.  Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar has issued an order in this regard.

These restrictions will be implemented from next Monday (28th). According to the new rules, all types of shops will be open in Pune till 4 pm, while malls, multiplex cinemas and theaters will be completely closed. The weekend lockdown in the city, however, has been maintained. All shops will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays except for essential services.

A Corona review meeting was held on Friday under the chairmanship of Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil. This time it was decided to tighten the restrictions.
 

  • All essential category shops allowed to open till 4 pm on all week days.
  • All non-essential category shops allowed to open till 4 pm from Monday to Friday. They will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Malls, theaters, cinema halls, auditorium, will remain closed.
  • Restaurants, Bar, Foodcourts allowed to open till 4 pm with 50% seating capacity from Monday to Friday. From 4 pm to 11 pm only parcel/home delivery will be allowed. On Saturday and Sunday, only parcel/home delivery will be allowed.
  • Local trains allowed for women passengers, government employees, medical and essential category persons.
  • All gardens, grounds, jogging/cycling tracks allowed to open from 5 am to 9 am on all days.
  • Emergency government departments can function with 100% capacity. Other government department offices can open with 50% capacity till 4 pm. Except for the exemption category, other private offices can work with 50% employees. 
  • Outdoor games are allowed on all days from 5 am to 9 am.
  • Social, political, religious and entertainment functions allowed with maximum 50 people till 4 pm. The programs should not be over three hours and food should not be consumed there. COVID appropriate behaviour should be followed. Legal action against the establishment for violation of rule including sealing of premises till COVID pandemic gets over.
  • All religious places will remain closed to the public. However daily prayer/ritual allowed (by priest etc).
  • Wedding ceremonies, maximum 50 people are allowed.
  • In a funeral maximum of 20 people allowed.
  • Construction activities allowed at sites where workers stay on site. If workers are coming from outside, the work is allowed till 4 pm only.
  • Agriculture-related shops, APMC markets are allowed to open till 4 pm on all days.
  • All e-commerce services allowed.
  • In PMC area, there will be a restriction on the gathering of five people together till 5 pm. After that, there will be a curfew except for emergency travel.
  • Gym, Salon, beauty parlour, wellness centres, spa allowed to open till 4 pm with 50% capacity with prior appointment. They will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday. AC should not be functional in the room.
  • PMPML buses are allowed to ply with 50% capacity.
  • Passenger car, vehicles can have three passengers. Cargo vehicles also can have three persons (driver + cleaner/helpers).
  • Epass not required for travel except for the district under level 5 (no such district at present).
  • All export-oriented units allowed to operate.
  • Following Manufacturing units can operate as usual: Essential Goods Manufacturing Units (Items classified as essential goods and Units producing raw material/packaging for any essential goods & entire supply chain). All continuous process industries (Units that require processes that are of such nature that these cannot be stopped immediately and cannot restart without considerable time requirement). Manufacturing of items that are significant to national security and defense. Data Centers/Cloud Service Providers/ IT Services Supporting Critical Infrastructure and Services.

  • All other manufacturing units across sectors, which are not covered under essential, continuous process or Export oriented units, can operate with 50% employees. They have to separate arrangements for the transport of employees as they are not supposed to travel in public transport.

  • All employees, workers have to reach their homes by 5 pm.
  • All schools, colleges, coaching classes, training centers will remain closed till 15th July. Online classes are allowed. Also, COVID19 related medical courses, skill development training allowed by following COVID-appropriate behavior.
  • All liquor shops are allowed to open till 4 pm from Monday to Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, only home delivery will be allowed.
