Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has been accused of extorting Rs 100 crore from police officer Parambir Singh. Cricket bookie Sonu Jalan has leveled the allegations against Parambir Singh. In 2018, Parambir Singh invoked Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against him and collected Rs 3 crore 45 lakhs from him.

Besides, Sonu Jalan has also leveled allegations against police officers Pradeep Sharma and Kothamire. Sonu Jalan has lodged a complaint with Director General of Police Sanjay Pandey, Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. It is learned that the Director General of Police immediately referred the matter to the State Criminal Investigation Branch. So now Parambir Singh's difficulty are likely to increase.

Ketan Tanna has also accused Parambir Singh of extorting ransom from him. Parambir Singh extorted Rs 1 crore 25 lakh from him. A case should be registered against Parambir Singh in this regard. He should be questioned. "If we are found guilty in this case, take action against us, but give us justice," demanded Ketan Tanna.

Director General of Police Sanjay Pandey has written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Pandey was unable to question former Mumbai police commissioner Parambir Singh. The Thackeray government has ordered an inquiry into Parambir Singh.

Director General of Police Sanjay Pandey was given the responsibility of investigating Parambir Singh's allegations. But now Sanjay Pandey has shown inability to investigate. Therefore, the government will have to appoint another officer in his place.
