Cyclone Tauktae: TV shooting badly hit, FWICE President blames MVA for all problems

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that Cyclone Tauktae is expected, and it has already reached Mumbai. Now as per a E-Times report, the cyclone,  is likely to damage film and television sets that are standing in Mumbai studios and those in Gujarat where most of the shootings are taking place. Speaking on the issue, JD Majethia, who is shooting for his serial Wagle Ki Duniya in Silvassa, said: "This rain has added more worries to the existing situation as far as the shoot and the sets are concerned because the shoots have shifted to Gujarat as the MET department prediction is going to hit Gujarat so we are worried -- there have been power failures yet people are trying to manage it to meet their target of the episode.''

Majethia said, "We normally prepare special monsoon covers before Monsoon, and I did get my set that is standing in Mumbai studio to know the condition and have been told the rainwater is seeping onto the set. Not only my set but there are a lot of open sets which unfortunately could not be repaired due to the Lockdown and this rain will, unfortunately, damage those sets too.''Majethia also added that Yash Raj film has an open set standing in Mumbai and was concerned about it but this untimely rain will definitely damage their set too. FWICE President BN Tiwari is angry with the Maharashtra government and blames the government for all the problems. He said, "We had written to the government requesting that our workers should be allowed to repair the sets and prepare for Monsoon protection but they haven't paid any attention to us. ''The Indian Meteorological Department on Monday informed that the cyclone is nearing towards south-southeast of Diu. "#CycloneAlert As per Radar observation (DWR GOA) at 2330 IST, the VSCS "Tauktae" lay centered at 17.5N/71.9E, with an elliptical eye of around 42.0 km diameter and at a distance of 360 KM south-southeast of Diu", tweeted IMD.
