Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has reacted to Former Bihar police chief Gupteshwar Pandey voluntary retirement.

DGP Gupteshwar Pandey, had made headlines in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, had raised many questions over the Mumbai Police's investigation into the actor's death.

Deshmukh while talking to reporters said that, you saw over the past one-and-half or two months that Pandey, despite being a senior police official, would speak as if he was a senior BJP leader. And it has turned out to be true.

Pandey had recently took VRS from his services in Bihar Police as Director General of Police(DGP)

He has resigned...the only thing I want to say is that it was the BJPs conspiracy to defame Maharashtra and its police eying the Bihar polls, the NCP leader added.

Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey has given a clarification on joining politics and his resignation. On Tuesday, he resigned from his services in Bihar Police as Director General of Police and there were reports that he may contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Gupteshwar Pandey said, "I have not joined any political party as of now and I have not taken any decision on it yet. As far as social work is concerned, I can do it without entering politics too."
