Former BJP city president of Kopargaon Subhash Chandra Shinde dies by suicide

Former BJP city president of Kopargaon, Ahmednagar, Prof Subhash Chandra Anandrao Shinde (75), a staunch supporter of late MP Suryabhan Patil Vahadne and a staunch supporter of BJP, died by suicide by hanging himself from a fan at his residence around 10 am on Tuesday.

He is survived by his wife, a son, daughter-in-law, a daughter and two grandchildren. The exact reason for Prof. Shinde's suicide has not been ascertained yet. In this case, on the information of his daughter-in-law Varsha Shinde, a sudden death was registered at Kopargaon city police station. Meanwhile, Pvt. A note has been found in Shinde's pocket. Police Inspector Vasudev Desale said that further investigation is underway as per what is written in it. Pvt. Shinde had close personal ties with senior BJP leaders across the state. His suicide has caused a stir in BJP circles.

Kopargaon city police station for now, has registered a case of accidental death. Meanwhile, a letter has been found in Prof. Shinde's pocket. Police declined to comment on what was written in the note.
