FYJC class 11th admission on the basis of CET, students begin prep

For this year's 11th admission, the CET exam will be taken on the basis of 10th syllabus.  As various examination boards are considering the internal assessment at school level for this year's Class X results, optional CET examinations will be conducted for Class XI admission with a view to maintaining uniformity and equal opportunity for all students.

The CET exam is optional and students who take the CET will be given preference in the 11th admission, the school education department said. The exams will be held two weeks after the 10th results, at the end of July or the first week of August, the education department said. However, the timeline has not been clarified yet. The examination will be conducted by the State Examination Council under the supervision of the Commissioner of Education. The duration of the examination is two hours.

This year, 3 lakh 47 thousand 537 students have passed the 10th standard examination from Mumbai division. The overall result of the state is 99.95 percent. Among them, Konkan division has got 100 percent result and Nagpur division has got the lowest result.

The percentage of students from all circles has increased this year. Therefore, the cutoff of colleges is going to increase. The principals say that if the children get good marks, there will be a competition for admission in a reputed college.
