Here's what Maha HM Anil Deshmukh said on allowing Arnab Goswami's family to meet him in jail

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Monday reacted over allowing Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami's family to meet him in jail.

Deshmukh stated that relatives of inmates of jails are currently not allowed to meet them in view of the coronavirus pandemic. This comes after Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari asked Deshmukh to allow kin of Goswami to meet him.

Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Monday called up and spoke with Home Minister Anil Deshmukh expressing "concern about Goswami's security and health".

He also urged Deshmukh to permit Goswami's family to meet and speak with him while he is in judicial custody till Nov. 18, and currently lodged in Taloja Central Jail.

Earlier, the Governor had conveyed similar concerns to Deshmukh "over the manner of arrest of Goswami" - who was nabbed on Nov. 4 and is currently in judicial custody in Taloja Central Jail, Raigad.

Goswami and two others--Feroze Shaikh and Nitish Sarda--were arrested by Alibaug police from Mumbai on November 4 in connection with the suicide of architect-interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother in 2018 over alleged non-payment of dues by companies of the accused.
