Home Minister Deshmukh's resignation not proposed, says sources in NCP-Shiv Sena

While rumors and discussions are circulating about the resignation of Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, there is no such proposal at the moment, said high-level sources in the NCP and Shiv Sena.

Deshmukh met NCP president Sharad Pawar at his residence in Delhi on Friday, prompting speculation that he might resign. Speaking to reporters outside after the discussion, Anil Deshmukh said, "I informed Pawar about the developments in Mumbai."

Deshmukh said, "The state government is fully cooperating with the NIA."

However, Shiv Sena has a totally different take on the whole matter. The Shiv Sena had said that the NIA probe into the case was an interference in state affairs. Sources in the NCP told Lokmat on Friday evening that there would be no political gains in forcing Anil Deshmukh to resign. When contacted, senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said, "There is no need to interpret the Pawar-Deshmukh meeting differently. Because it is their internal subject. ”
