Kangana slams Uddhav govt on Arnab Goswami's arrest: "I had one house, even that was demolished"

Actress Kangana Ranaut has once again vented her anger on the Uddhav Thackeray govt over the arrest of journalist Arnab Goswami.  Taking to her Twitter, the Manikarnika actress wrote, "These contractors of power who have defrauded the poor question our intentions, what will we get out of fighting the despots, I had one house and even that has been destroyed. This is not the first time that the Tanu Weds Manu star is raising her voice against injustice. She issued a similar response on the day of Goswami’s arrest as well. She took a dig at Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and said in a video, “I want to ask Maharashtra government that today you went to Arnab Goswami’s home, pulled his hair and assaulted him. How many homes will you demolish and how many necks will you strangle? How many hair will you pull? Sonia Sena, how many voices will you stop?  These voices will only increase. They have been many who have been hanged for free speech.”

Goswami and two others - Feroze Shaikh and Nitish Sarda - were arrested by Alibaug police on November 4 in connection with the suicide of architect-interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother in 2018, over alleged non-payment of dues by companies of the accused. He was later remanded to judicial custody till November 18 with the other accused. Today the Bombay High Court on Monday rejected Arnab's interim bail plea. The court has asked him to file a regular bail plea in the Alibaug court and directed that it should be decided on merits within four days. Goswami's team has already filed its bail plea before the Alibaug court, a day after he was shifted from a school there to the Taloja Central Jail.Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis urged the Bombay High Court "to take suo moto cognizance" of the way in which Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra has "treated Goswami during the entire process of arrest to handling under custody, as alleged by him".
