The world's largest vaccination drive is underway in India. On January 16, the Prime Minister had launched India's vaccination drive against the novel coronavirus via video conferencing. The drive aims to first inoculate millions of its healthcare and frontline workers and reach an estimated 3 crore people by the end of its first phase.

"In the first phase, only doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and police are being vaccinated against coronavirus. I will take the vaccine whenever will get the permission," said Ajit Pawar. He was talking to the media in Pune on Friday. A review meeting was held in Pune in the presence of Ajit Pawar after which he spoke to reporters. He also commented on corona vaccination drive in the state, Dhananjay Munde case and Serum Institute fire incident.

Currently there are many problems linked with the vaccination drive. Around 60-65% people got vaccinated in the rural areas whereas only 25-30% from areas got vaccinated. Many people are confused and scared about getting vaccinated as a result beneficiaries are not turning up to get the shot. Also vaccination drive was suspended for two days due to technical glitches in the Co-WIN application. Private doctors should also be vaccinated. We will take a decision on that too ", said Ajit Pawar.

When Ajit Pawar was asked if he would get the vaccine jab, he replied that if he gets permission he will surely take the vaccine.

He said, "In the first phase, doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and police will be vaccinated against corona. Whenever we will get permission, I'll take the jab", said Ajit Pawar.
