A patient infected with Delta Plus variant of corona virus has died in Maharashtra. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope has confirmed this. In Maharashtra, 21 patients of Delta Plus variant have been found and one of them has died, Tope has informed the media. The deceased was 80 years old and was suffering from other ailments.

The Delta Plus variant cases in the state are 9 patients in Ratnagiri, 7 in Jalgaon, 2 in Mumbai and 1 each in Palghar, Thane and Sindhudurg districts. According to information released by the Maharashtra Health Department last week, the mutated version of the coronavirus could be the cause of the third wave of the Delta Plus variant Covid 19. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Task Force officials had met. This new Delta Plus is the first of its kind in India.

It is a mutation of Delta B1.617.2. The Delta variant was responsible for the second wave of corona in India. Rajesh Tope said that first Delta was followed by Delta Plus, has Delta changed its form? This is currently being studied in detail. 100 samples are taken every month in 37 districts.

Their travel history, were they vaccinated? This is being investigated. We are also getting help from the center. Of the 21 patients found, an elderly patient has died. No need to panic. "We are investigating this in collaboration with the Center," he said.
