Maharashtra: Balbharati makes error in Class 8 History textbook

The Maharashtra State Education Board has made a big mistake in Balbharati's textbook. The mistake has been made in the class VIII textbook of Balbharati where they have mentioned Kurban Hussain was sentenced to death in the Lahore conspiracy case with the revolutionary Bhagat Singh and Rajguru. Instead of Sukhdev the textbook has mentioned Kurban Hussain. The names of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, who fought for the freedom of the country in the Indian freedom struggle, are on the minds of every citizen of the country.

However, the famous writer Yadunath Thatte's "India is my country" chapter has caused a stir after it was pointed out that there was a mistake in these names. On March 23,1931, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged to death by the British colonial rulers in Lahore jail. Shaheed Diwas is celebrated every year on March 23 to pay homage to the young brave hearts.

Meanwhile, Anand Dave of the Brahmin Federation has demanded that the state government should take action against the culprits. He has said that the mistake in the class VIII textbook of Balbharati is unacceptable and reprehensible. Dave also demanded that the book be withdrawn immediately and those responsible should be punished.

The matter should be investigated. This may be a typographical error, I don't think anyone did it on purpose, said Amol Mitkari, MLA of the NCP Legislative Council.
