Maharashtra: BJP shows support to Shiv Sena in Kalyan Panchayat Samiti election

Even though the Shiv Sena & NCP had formed a Mahavikas Aghadi with the help of congress and came to power. But at the local level, it seems Shiv Sena & NCP are still competitors and arch-rivals.

On Friday 5 corporators of Ahmednagar district's Parner Municipal Corporation quit Shiv Sena party & joined NCP in presence of deputy CM of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar. All these 5 corporators were in touch with Local NCP MLA Nilesh Lanke who took them to Baramati to meet Ajit Pawar & inducted them in the Party.

Now on Monday, in the Kalyan Panchayat Samiti, Shiv Sena has directly joined hands with BJP and has given a blow to NCP and Congress. Recently, the election was held for the post of Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Kalyan and Ambernath Taluka Panchayat Samiti. In Kalyan, there are 5 Panchayat Samiti members from BJP, 4 from Shiv Sena and 3 from NCP. As decided in Shiv Sena and NCP, the post of Speaker and Deputy Speaker was to be given to NCP. But on Sunday morning, Murbad's BJP MLA Kisan Kathore and Shiv Sena leaders suddenly joined hands. Instead of giving both the posts to NCP, BJP declared unconditional support to Shiv Sena. In fact, as agreed between the Shiv Sena and NCP leaders, the Shiv Sena's Speaker and Deputy Speaker candidates were to withdraw their nominations on Sunday. However, BJP MLA Kisan Kathore and Ravindra Ghodvinde, chairman of the Kalyan Agricultural Produce Market Committee's move completely shocked the NCP by their move to support Shiv Sena.
