Maharashtra Budget 2021: Check out important announcement made for agriculture sector by Dy CM Ajit Pawar

Maharashtra Budget 2021-22 was presented by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar in the Legislative Assembly on Monday. This is the second budget of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in the state. 

During his speech, the agriculture sector has helped to recover the state's economy during the Corona crisis, said Ajit Pawar.

In this budget, Ajit Pawar has made big announcements for the agricultural sector. Pawar said that 31 lakh farmers have been given crop loans of Rs 42,000 crore after debt waiver. Mahatma Phule loan waiver was made available by the state government. In addition, financial assistance will be provided for the construction of a permanent shed. Ajit Pawar said that Rs 3274 crore has been proposed for 2021-22 agro-animal husbandry scheme.

"Farmers will be allowed to repay their farm loans with 0% interest. The interest amount will be born by government," said Pawar while presenting Budget for 2021-22 in the Assembly.

At the same time, the industrial services sector declined, the agricultural sector grew by 11%, and efforts were made to increase the income of farmers. Rs 200 crore will be given to four agricultural universities every year. Nursery centers will be started at the taluka level in the name of Ahilyabai Holkar across the state. Also, a Rs 2,000 crore plan has been announced for strengthening APMC. Rs 1,500 crore will be provided to MSEDCL for solar energy connection of agricultural pumps.

- 500 vegetable nurseries will be set up
- 200 crore per annum for research to 4 agricultural universities
- 4 crore will be given to 4 agricultural universities for research in 3 years
- Biosecurity laboratory to be set up in Pune
- 3274 crore for Padum Ministry
