Maharashtra govt announces fresh guidelines amidst rising COVID-19 cases

The Maharashtra government on March 16 announces fresh curbs amidst rising COVID-19 cases in the state.

Here's the complete list of new Covid guidelines issued by the Maharashtra government:

All cinema halls (single screens and multiplexes) hotels/ restaurants/ shopping malls to operate with the following restrictions:

• No entry will be allowed without proper wearing of Masks. 
• Temperature measuring devices to be used to ensure no one with fever gets an entry. 
• Adequate hand sanitisers to be kept at various convenient locations. 
• Concerned establishments to ensure the presence of enough manpower to enforce wearing of masks as well as maintaining social distances by all visitors all the times.
• Mall management to ensure that theatres/ restaurants or any other establishments in the mall adhere to restrictions imposed herein or before and in operation now.

"In case of violation of this order, concerned cinema hall/ hotels/ restaurants/shopping malls shall have to remain closed for a period until the Covid-1919 pandemic stays notified as a Disaster by the Central Government. A violation shall also attract penalties under the disaster act for the owner of the premises. b. All Shopping Malls to adhere to the following restrictions," the government said.

Guidelines for social gatherings:

• No political, social, cultural, religious gatherings will be allowed, while no more than 50 people will be allowed to be present at weddings. Action will be taken against the owners of premises (such as wedding halls) if these norms are violated, the government said.
• For the last rites of a person, not more than 20 people will be allowed to be present.
• Offices except related to health services and essential services should operate at 50 per cent capacity
• In the case of home isolation, the patient must inform local authorities about the medical professional under whose supervision he or she is.
• A board will be put up on the door for 14 days indicating the presence of COVID-19 patient at the location. Patients will be stamped "home quarantine" on the hand.
• If patients violate these norms, they will be shifted to covid care centres.
• For religious places the management bodies of all religious places have been asked to decide and declare the maximum number of visitors per hour they will allow, depending on the availability of space for movement and gathering with proper distancing.
