Maharashtra govt reduces 25 pc syllabus for class 1 to 12

Maharashtra government has decided to reduce 25 per cent syllabus for for the academic session 2021-22. In this regard, Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said that after discussions with all the concerned parties and in view of the covid-19 pandemic, it has been decided to reduce the syllabus from class 1 to class 12 for the academic year 2021-22 by 25% like last year.

Due to covid pandemic schools have been closed, the decision has been taken to complete the syllabus on time and allow the students to achieve their learning objectives in a stress free environment. Details of the reduced course will be provided soon, she said.

The Government of Maharashtra has issued an official notification in this regard. The letter said that as per the instructions given by the Central and State Governments, all schools and colleges in the state have been closed since March 2020. The academic year in all the states starts in June every year. However, schools could not open due to the corona pandemic. Failure to start school on time can lead to problems in completing the course, she said.

Against the backdrop of Covid-19, it has been decided to reduce the syllabus for class 1 to 12 by 25 per cent in 2021-22. The list of reduced courses will be published by the director of the State Council for Education and Research, the government circular said.
