Maharashtra: Hotels in state to reopen from July 8; Check out the guidelines

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday said that a decision on reopening hotels and restaurants in the state will be taken soon after finalising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The re-opening of hotels is likely to start by July 8 with stringent SOPs in place. The number of guests will be capped at 33 per cent of total capacity.

Hotels can keep their restaurants open only for guests living in hotels, while standalone restaurants still have to wait for another round of discussions.

The hotel will have to follow below mentioned guidelines:

1. Mandatory thermal screening and reception tables with protective glass and hand sanitizers with pedal-operated dispensers should be made available in the hotels.

2. Hotels need to adopt contactless process like digital payments.

3. Redistricted entry into elevators is mandatory and rooms will be cleaned and sanitized each time a guest vacates.

4. Large gatherings will be prohibited and meeting halls kept at 33 per cent capacity.

5. Gaming, swimming pools, children’s play areas and gymnasiums will remain closed.

6. Guests will have to wear masks at all times in the hotel.

7. Only asymptomatic guests should be allowed and all guests must download the Aarogya Setu app compulsorily and declare travel history at the reception.
