Maharashtra: One killed, three injured in Mumbai-Pune Expressway accident

In a major accident, the driver of the Eicher Tempo died on the spot near Ris village on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Friday morning while three suffered minor injuries.

According to sources, while the tempo was moving towards Mumbai from Nilanga Latur, the tempo (No. MH-24, AU-5831) was approaching the village of Ris within the limits of the Rasayani Police Station when the tempo driver suddenly paased off and hit the container in front of him on the right side.

Tempo driver Bharat Mohan Jagdale (age 31) of Kasarshirle, Taluka-Nilanga, District-Latur died on the spot due to serious injuries. His wife Rajshri Bharat Jagdale, daughter Hrithika Bharat Jagdale and cousin Dhanraj Sukhpant Jagdale were slightly injured. Upon learning about the accident, Amit Gujre reached the spot with his ambulance. Delta Force, IRB personnel also rushed to the spot. Bharat Jagdale's dead body was later taken to Chowk Hospital for autopsy. The matter has been registered at the Rasayani Police Station.
