Maharashtra Energy Minister Nitin Raut on Tuesday announced that the state government will not be able to waiver or provide any relaxation in the inflated power bills that consumers received after the lockdown. Electricity consumers in the state will have to pay the full amount as per readings in the bill, he said.

The MVA government's decision regarding inflated power bills has escalated tensions between the ruling party and the opposition.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray had also met state Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. Raj had said,"My delegation had met Adani & BEST officials, so I met the Governor today regarding the increased electricity bill. Companies are ready to reduce the electricity bill. Governor will soon convey to CM & take a decision"

An important meeting of the MNS party will be held today in the presence of MNS president Raj Thackeray against the decision of the Thackeray government. But before the meeting MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande gave a hint about his party's next move by tweeting.

Sandeep Deshpande said in his tweet, applications regarding inflated power bills, requests and meetings all have been done. But the government is still silent. We have to come on the streets after Saheb's (Raj Thackeray) order for the people of the state.
