Journalist Arnab Goswami has repeatedly targeted the Shiv Sena and the Maharashtra government over the Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant on Tuesday met Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and demanded immediate legal action against Arnab Goswami. He has also wriiten to the Home Minister in this regard.

In his letter Arvind Sawant has stated that journalist Arnab Goswami is constantly spreading irresponsible news. His channel has made baseless allegations against cabinet ministers in the state without any evidence.

Earlier also Arnab has used derogatory language for political leaders, especially opposition leaders. He has also gone beyond all morality in journalism by accusing a dead woman (Disha Salian). Disha's parents have already objected to such indecent news.

Slamming Goswami, the editor-in-chief and owner of Republic TV, Sawant said Arnab Goswami is violating the rules of the Press Council of India.

MP Arvind Sawant has expressed concern over Arnab Goswami trying to provoke the people by creating divisions in the society by spreading divisive and irresponsible news about crime for the personal interest of some people. At the same time, publishing news when there is no evidence of a crime can disrupt the work of the crime investigation mechanism.

The police department has also been insulted from time to time. Arvind Sawant has said that the reputation of the police department has been damaged.

MP Arvind Sawant demanded that Home Minister Anil Deshmukh should take immediate action against him.
