Heavy rains continued in Thane district on Wednesday night. Local train services were suspended due to waterlogging on the tracks between Umbarmali and Kasara stations of Central Railway, as well as between Ambernath and Wangani railway stations. So, in many parts of the district, it was difficult to get out of the house due to rains. A family was trapped in a house in Paranjpenagar area of Shahapur taluka. Surrounded by water around the house, the family was shouting for help. At that time, Shiv Sena leader and former MLA Pandurang Borkar rushed to rescue the family with the help of his colleagues.

Three children and their parents were trapped in a house near a ground at Paranjpenagar Cherpoli Highway when their house was submerged in water. As soon as former MLA Pandurang Barora got the information, he rushed to the spot. He took some of his workers with him and with the help of a rope, he got the family out safely. Therefore, Shiv Sena leader Pandurang Barora and his colleagues are being lauded on social media. Barora narrated the whole incident on his Facebook page.

"It was 12 o'clock at night, it was raining heavily, and the electricity power was down. I had never seen such heavy rains before. The drain next to my house in Paranjpenagar, where I live, was overflowing. So, the steps of my house were also flooded. So when i was standing at the door of my house I heard a voice shouting for help. At that time, the house in the open field in front was fully submerged in water. The family used torch to signal for help. I immediately informed the police administration and disaster management. But, as the water in that house was rising, I couldn't wait more. Ravi Madke and some of his colleagues came with him and with the help of a rope they managed to pull the husband and wife and 3 small children out of the water safely," informed Pandurang Barora.
