Mumbai Rain: Mumbai local train service between Umbermali-Kasara halted due to waterlogging on tracks

Heavy rains continued in Thane district on Wednesday night. Local train services were suspended due to waterlogging on tracks between Umbermali railway station and Kasara stations of Central Railway, as well as between Ambernath and Wangani railway stations. At the same time train service between Igatpuri and Khardi has been temporarily stopped due to waterlogging on tracks, said CPRO, Central Railway. According to the Central Railway, heavy rains have lashed the Kalyan-Karjat and Kalyan-Kasara routes. The Kasara area received 139 mm of rainfall in just 4 hours. On the other hand, it has been seen that water has accumulated up to the platform at Umbarmali railway station.

Apart from this, water logging was also reported on railways tracks of Kasara. Meanwhile, the railway administration has clarified that the traffic between Igatpuri and Khardi has also been stopped since 10 pm on Wednesday.

Heavy rains in Mumbai also caused traffic congestion in many places. Waterlogging was reported in the low lying areas of Malad and Jogeshwari. The Eastern Expressway and Vile Parle to Bandra were also affected.

Mumbai receives an average rainfall of 840 mm in July. But this time between July 1 and July 21, 1032.2 mm of rain was recorded in the Santa Cruz area. Apart from this, due to rains in various places, the water in the dams in the state has increased by 3% in 4 days.
