Mumbai: Senior citizens arrive at BKC Jumbo COVID-19 hospital to take vaccine

The Maharashtra Health Department on Monday kick started the next phase of the COVID-19 vaccination drive at BKC Jumbo COVID-19 hospital in Mumbai on day one.

The COVID vaccination drive began today for people above 60 years and people above 45 years with comorbidities. Many people arrived at BKC Jumbo COVID-19 hospital in Mumbai to get COVID-19 vaccination.

For comorbidities, citizen has to produce a certificate from registered medical practitioner in which one of the enlisted comorbidities has to be verified & certified by registered medical practitioner. They have to submit it to the center & on-site registration can be done, the Dean added. 

The government has supplied two COVID-19 vaccines, Covishield and Covaxin, free of cost to the States/UTs to vaccinate Health Care Workers (HCWs) and Front Line Workers (FLWs) and will also be able to cover the next priority group i.e. 60 years plus age group and the age group of 45 to 59 years suffering from Pre-Specified Co-Morbidities.
