Mumbai’s iconic dabbawalas extend support to ‘Bharat Bandh’

Mumbai’s iconic dabbawalas have extended support to ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by farmers today demanding roll back of three farm laws passed by the Central government. “The lockdown has destroyed the labour class in the country. Even we suffered a lot. We sincerely hope that the farmers should not face such a situation and therefore we support their demands and the ongoing agitation,” Subhash Talekar, president, Mumbai Dabbawala Association, said.

He further said that the new farm laws brought by the Centre will finish the farmers of the country.

Farmer unions on Friday decided to intensify their agitation against the farm laws calling for 'Bharat Bandh' today stating that they were not satisfied with amendments to the agricultural legislations being proposed by the government.
