The management of 2 toll plazas on the Pune-Bangalore highway from Satara to Pune will be changed from April 3. These include Anewadi in Satara and Khed-Shivapur toll plazas in Pune. Both these toll plazas are currently managed by Ashok Architecture Company.
There has been a lot of controversy and politics over the Anewadi toll plaza contract. The corporator who was a supporter of MLA Shivendra Raje Bhosale had put a lot of pressure on him to keep the management of this toll plaza.
Therefore, Shivendra Raje and Udayan Raje struggled hard to keep the management of the toll plaza in their hand. However, the contract for this toll plaza remained with Ashok Sawant, a supporter of Udayan Raje.
Preparations are now in full swing to change the management of these toll plazas. Therefore, the police security at toll plazas has been increased for the last few days. The process of removing the two toll plazas from Ashok Sawant and handing them over to Pune NCP corporator Sachin Dodke and former Shiv Sena Zilla Parishad member Ramesh Konde is underway.
