Amid a massive spike in COVID-19 cases in India, several states including Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Jharkhand, are facing coronavirus vaccine shortage.

Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Thursday said the state is facing a vaccine shortage and demanded 40 lakh doses every week from the Centre. The Maharastra Health Minister added that according to the latest release order of vaccines by the Centre, Maharashtra was only given 7.5 lakh vaccine dosages. While Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana have been given far more vaccines than Maharashtra, he claimed.

Several ministers in the Mahavikas Aghadi government have demanded that the Centre to supply the corona vaccine. Against this backdrop, Congress Maharashtra state president Nana Patole has demanded that the Union health minister should apologize to Maharashtra.

Coronavirus situaion has become worse in the state. In this situation, the state government is constantly asking the Centre for vaccines and financial assistance, said Nana Patole. Today, our country is providing free vaccines to Pakistan but for Maharashtra, they are doing politics over it. BJP’s state and central leaders are targeting Maharashtra and they surely will face the consequences, said Maharashtra Congress Chief Nana Patole.

We condemn the manner in which the Union Health Minister has accused Maharashtra. He has insulted Maharashtra. Dr.Harshvardhan should apologize to Maharashtra, said aggressive Pavitra Nana Patole.
