Narayan Rane: Sharad Pawar can do anything

A government that cannot protect it's citizen, will not be able to break the Coronavirus chain without a change in the government. For the first time in the history of Maharashtra, I have seen a Chief Minister running a government sitting at home," Narayan Rane said in an interview with BBC Marathi.

Narayan Rane said that the MVA government has failed to tackle the coronavirus situation in the state. More than 4,000 deaths have been reported in Mumbai. The number of coronavirus cases are increasing day by day. Who is responsible for this? New orders are being issued every day but are not being implemented. The Covid-19 deaths will not stop unless the government changes in Maharashtra. He accused the government of acting irresponsibly. Also the people of the state are not safe, Maharashtra is the worse hit state by the virus with maximum cases.

The Maharashtra government is responsible for the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the country. What problems are the patients facing? No medicine, no treatment, the government does not have the capability to eradicate coronavirus.

He further said,"Is it possible to run a government from home? Lockdown has been announced in Mumbai but many people are still not complying with the lockdown rules. Lockdown is still not observed in some parts of Mumbai, what are the government officials doing?  Various such questions were raised by Narayan Rane.

Talking about the tension on the Indo-China border, Rane was asked how he sees Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar’s statement supporting PM Narendra Modi on India-China border standoff. Rane responded, "Sharad Pawar may have supported Narendra Modi out of national sentiment. His comments does not mean to sideline the Congress party."Rane also said that Sharad Pawar can do anything.

The NCP chief’s comment was not in line with the Congress stand on this issue. Pawar has said it was not the time to play politics. “We have to stand with the military. During the 1962 war also, China had grabbed 42,000 sq km of our land,” Pawar said indirectly, taking a shot at the Congress leadership.
