Martyr Assistant Sub-Inspector Tukaram Ombale, who risked his life to catch 26/11 Mumbai terrorist Ajmal Kasab alive, a newly discovered spider has been named after the martyred officer. A team searching for a new species of spider has discovered a very powerful and rare species of spider. It has been decided to name this species 'Icius Tukarami', which first appeared in a research paper.

Two new species of spiders were discovered in Maharashtra. One of these is named 'Phintella cholkei'. The other species is called 'Icius Tukarami'. Informing about this, the spider researcher mentioned the martyr Tukaram Ombale and said that it would be a matter of pride to name a new species of spider after him in remembrance of his sacrifice.

"Join me to introduce 2 new species of jumping spiders from Maharastra, India! One species is dedicated to ASI Tukaram Omble, who coughed terrorist Kasab alive and took 23 bullets. Presenting 'Icius tukarami' from Thane, Maharashtra. Second new species is Phintella cholkei, in remembrance of friend Kamlesh Cholke.
This species is distributed in Thane and Aarey Milk Colony in Mumbai,"tweeted Dhruv Prajapati.

Mr Omble, unarmed, was killed while he tried to capture terrorist Ajmal Kasab on the night of November 26, 2008. He was shot dead at Girgaum Chowpatty in south Mumbai, but not before Mr Omble had ensured that the terrorist was caught alive.
