Nice Attack: BJP questions MVA govt for French President Macron’s posters on Mumbai road

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday condemned the violent knife attack in France, which left three people dead.

In a Tweet, PM Modi expressed condolences for the victims and their families, and reiterated that India stands with France in the fight against terrorism.

"I strongly condemn the recent terrorist attacks in France, including today's heinous attack in Nice inside a church. Our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the people of France. India stands with France in the fight against terrorism," tweeted Modi.

The knife attack in the city of Nice has left at least three people dead and several injured, French officials said on Thursday.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra on Friday shared a viral video that shows posters of Macron pasted on road, while vehicles zoom past over it.

Patra claims that it is a road in Mumbai and criticised the Maharashtra government for allowing such an incident to happen, despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi extending solidarity to France against terror attacks. He asked why the French President, who has vowed to fight against terror, is being insulted in Mumbai?

He tweeted,"Government of Maharashtra. What is happening in your government? India stands with France today .. The PM of India has pledged to fight against France against the terrorism that is happening in Jihad France. Then why insult the French President on the streets of Mumbai?"
