Pooja Chavan Suicide Case: BJP's Atul Bhatkhalkar receives threat calls after speaking on suicide case

A 22-year-old girl from Parli, Pooja Chavan, allegedly committed suicide by jumping off a building named Heaven Park in the Wanawadi area of the city, sparking off a controversy. The deceased Chavan (22) - hailed from Beed district and had just come to Pune to attend an English-speaking course. She was living along with two youth, said to be her brother and his friend.

Senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, the Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly, had shot off a letter to Director-General of Police Hemant Nagrale along ith some purported audio clips pointing to the alleged involvement of MVA minister Sanjay Rathod in the incident.

BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar had also sent a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in this regard. Bhatkhalkar after raising his voice in the matter has made a serious allegation against the Thackeray government. Bhatkhalkar tweeted,"After raising my voice in Pooja Chavan's suspicious suicide case i have ben getting threatening phone calls since yesterday. This mob rule has intensified since the Thackeray government came to power. Government-sponsored goons should realize that I am not some one who will get threatened.Dev_Fadnavis @BJP4Maharashtra @OfficeofUT".

The matters came to a boil in the past couple of days after several purported audio clips on the incident went viral, leading to a political blame game by the opposition as the needle of suspicion allegedly pointed towards Sanjay Rathod.
