Embroiled in the suicide case of the 22-year-old TikTok celebrity Pooja Chavan, Maharashtra Forest Minister Sanjay Rathod finally spotted after 15 days. Rathod has been unreachable for the last 15 days. Opponents strongly criticized the Mahavikas Aghadi government and especially the Shiv Sena for not taking against the minister. The opposition demanded inquiry against the minister and his removal from the cabinet. However, Rathod continues to be a cabinet minister.
Rathod on Tuesday morning was accorded a red carpet reception by his supporters during his visit to Pohardevi temple, an important place of worship for the Banjara community in Maharashtra’s Washim district. He reached the temple to pay homage to the Goddess. He was accompanied by his wife which gave a clear message that his family is supportive of him during this difficult time.
Sanjay Rathod's supporters crowded Pohardevi. Hundreds of Rathore's supporters were present at Pohragad. They shouted slogans in support of Rathod. Ahead of his visit to the temple, a video of people, presumably his supporters, laying the red carpet for receiving him was seen in a report broadcasted by ABP Majha.
It is being said that Rathod has given a clear message to his party chief and Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray that his community stands firmly behind him. There is talk in political circles that Rathod has put pressure on the party by showing his supporters strength at Pohardevi. Now all eyes are on the state CM's decision.
A 22-year-old TikTok star Pooja Chavan allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the Heaven Park building in Pune’s Wanawadi area on February 8. The Maharashtra police, probing the case, filed an accidental case and dismissed anything suspicious in the matter.
