PM Modi on Wednesday conducted 'bhoomi pujan' for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Many saints and devotees had gathered in Ayodhya for the ceremony. Narendra Modi expressed the feeling that this day was witnessed through many years of struggle.

"Ram Mandir will become the modern symbol of our traditions. It'll become a symbol of our devotion, our national sentiment. This temple will also symbolise the power of the collective resolution of crores of people. It will keep inspiring the future generations," Modi said.

Many who wished to attend the big ceremony could not attend the Bhumi Pujan ceremony in Ayodhya due to the coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, in different parts of the country people celebrated the day by distributing sweets and worshipping Lord Ram.

MNS activists in Aurangabad, Maharashtra also reached TV Center Chowk to celebrate the big day. However, the police had denied permission for the event. But still MNS workers performed 'aarti of Shri Ram' and expressed their happiness

Later, police arrested MNS district president Suhas Dashrathe including the party activists.
