Sachin Vaze case: CM Thackeray calls for meeting with Director General of Police & Commissioner at his residence

The Maha Vikas Aghadi in it's 15-month tenure has faced many crises, the latest being the arrest of police officer Sachin Vaze in connection with an explosive-laden SUV found parked outside billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s house last month. A few days ago, there was a demand for the removal of Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. On the other hand, there was talk of replacing the Commissioner of Police.

Against this backdrop, a high-level meeting with the Chief Minister was held at Varsha Bungalow till midnight yesterday. State Director General of Police Hemant Nagarale had come to Varsha Bungalow to meet Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The meeting was also attended by Commissioner of Police Parambir Singh and Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

The issue of Sachin Vaze was discussed at length in this meeting. The meeting started at around 9 pm on Tuesday and lasted for about four hours. After midnight, the minister and police officer left from Varsha Bungalow.

BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has accused an IPS officer of moving the explosives in front of Ambani's house. Meanwhile, the Mercedes car used by Sachin Vaze was seized by the NIA. Apart from car, bags, diaries, shirts and Rs 5 lakh cash were also seized from Vaze.
