The Maharashtra government and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has been facing flak since the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, drugs case of Rhea Chakraborty, attack on a former Navy officer and Kangana Ranaut row.

There is also demand for the imposition of presidential rule in Maharashtra.

When asked about some politicians and celebs, namely Kangana Ranaut, demanding President's rule in Maharastra, Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday quipped that is it a joke to implement it when there is a majority in the house.

Union Minister Ramdas Athavale, MP Navneet Rana and some others leaders had in the last few days demanded the imposition of presidential rule in the state.

Announcing a day's token fast in support of the suspended Opposition MPs, Pawar on Tuesday wondered why the government was in such a hurry to pass the Farm Bills.

"I have decided to abstain from food and fast today in solidarity with the protesting MPs agitation," said Pawar, a Member of the Rajya Sabha, which witnessed a massive ruckus in the past two days followed by a boycott by the Opposition parties.
