Hathras gang rape case has sparked enormous outrage with a series of intense protests being observed across the nation. A protest took over social media after allegedly a video of the victim's body was posted showing the administration burning the body without the presence of family members.

The 19-year-old Dalit woman was gang-raped and brutalised by four upper caste men on September 14 and died on September 29 at Delhi’s Safdurjung Hospital.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut questioned Kangana Ranaut's silence on the Hathras gang-rape case, He said that Ranaut should speak on the Hathras and Balrampur gang rape incident.

The Shiv Sena also raised questions over UP government providing security to family members of the Hathras incident victim.  Comparing the treatment given to the actress Kangana Ranaut, in a Saamana editorial Shiv Sena said while an actress like Kangana Ranaut is given Y category security, the family of Hathras victim is left in the mercy of god ("bhagwan bharose"), India Today reports.

Raut said," It should be kept in mind if justice is not served in this case, the Dalit community will take to the streets. Bhim Army chief Chandrasekhar Azad has demanded that the 20 lakh Bahujans of the country be granted gun licenses immediately. The government should provide us a 50 % subsidy to purchase guns and pistols.

In his weekly column Rokhthok in Saamana, Raut questioned those who spoke of “injustice and atrocities against women after the illegally built office of an actor was demolished in Mumbai” why they are “keeping quiet on the illegal cremation of the victim in Hathras”. “Because she was not a star or celebrity and lived in a hut and did not build illegal constructions,” he added.

The Supreme Court will hear a plea seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the Hathras gangrape and murder case on Tuesday.
