Third covid wave: KDMC reserves 100 beds for chidren

The number of covid patients in Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation limits has been declining over the last few days. However, the KDMC administration is constructing a covid hospital on the site of Vibha Company in Dombivli MIDC area to ensure that critically ill patients do not have to rush for beds in future.

In particular, children with corona infections will be treated on the second floor of the company's building. KDMC Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryavanshi along with IMA doctors recently inspected the ongoing work of Corona Hospital in Vibha Company building. This special arrangement has been made so that the parents do not have to rush if the cases of covid in children unfortunately increases in the coming days.

The hospital will have a total capacity of 580 beds. Of these, 100 beds will be for small children. This also includes NICU beds. Separate arrangements will also be made for mothers to breastfeed their babies. The IMA's Pediatric Task Force submitted a medical logistics report to the KDMC administration. Dr. Prashant Patil, President, Kalyan IMA, said that the report includes information on needles, ventilators, bedding, essential medicines, etc. required for children.

The KDMC administration had decided to take over the land of Vibha Company, which is at short distance from Savitribai Phule Natyagriha. The High Court directed the company administration to give the place for a period of time to Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation for use of corona patients till the final decision is taken. KDMC Commissioner Suryavanshi made efforts to acquire this land.
