BJP is raising funds across the country for the construction of Ram Mandir. Congress state president and MLA Nana Patole has strongly criticized the BJP's campaign.

Patole, on Thursday, reported that some people asking for donations in the name of Lord Ram came to him. "I asked one of them that 30 years ago you had taken the money to build the temple, where is that money. So he replied that if you did not give the money, then you will be thrown out of religion," Patole said.

Commenting on the matter, Patole added: 'Has Ram permitted toll in his name?' He sought to know under which charitable arrangement the donation collection drive in Maharashtra for Ram Mandir is being carried out. "Do we have the right to ask where is the Rs 1,400 crore that was collected 30 years ago?" he said.

“I am a Hindu and I had donated for the Ram Mandir but there is no account of that money,” he said, adding, "The BJP has been attacking the Shiv Sena, but now the country is attacking the BJP over the funds."

After Nana Patole's allegations, there was a commotion in the assembly. BJP leaders started shouting slogans against Patole's allegations and the Speaker had to adjourn the House for some time.

Responding to Patole’s allegations, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ram Kadam called the Congress party 'anti-Hindu'. "Everyone knows about Congress’ ‘Hindu virodh’," he said.
