Nagpur, May 12

The second wave of corona in the state has not subsided yet, although the number of patients are not increasing daily, the death toll is still high. Restrictions imposed in the State government under the ‘Break The Chain’ initiative are still in force till May 15 and weekly markets have not been given permission. Despite this, Budhwar Bazaar, in Sakkardara, and weekly markets in Jaitala and Mangalmurti Chowk were running in full swing on Wednesday. NMC’s Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) chased away all the vegetable vendors from these three markets.

Weekly markets in the city have been banned due to the risk of corona infection. Essential service shops are allowed to open till 11 am. Despite this, vegetable sellers had set up shops in Jaitala Bazaar. Upon receiving this information, NDS and zone squads reached these markets. They made all the vendors to close the shop and leave. Vegetable sellers had set up shops in Sakkardara market in Raghuji Nagar zone on Wednesday morning, which NDS closed. Weekly market in Mangalmurti Chowk under Nehru Nagar zone and Trimurti Nagar mutton market in Laxminarayan Zone were closed.
