AIESL to look for new CEO

Nagpur, Oct 20

The procedure for appointment of new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Air India Engineering Services Limited (AIESL) has started with the current CEO H R Jagannath due to retire this month.

H R Jagannath, a former Air India officer was appointed as CEO of AIESL in 2015 following transfer of Boeing MRO to AIESL in 2015.

65-year-old Jagannath who received two extensions in the last five years was appointed on a special mission at AISEL MRO as at that time only hangar of the MRO was ready.

During these times, stiff opposition was experienced for construction of taxiway at Shivangaon.

After attaining the desi standard for the MRO, H R Jagannath also achieved the certification of Federation Aviation Administration (FAA) and is now waiting for the certification of European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The training of engineers deputed at AISEL MRO has also been done to achieve this end.

EASA standards for maintenance of Airbus planes apart from Boeing may add to the business of AISEL MRO, sources said.

As all these standards have already been achieved under the leadership of H R Jagannath, the new CEO may not be required to work on these fundamental paremeters.
