The government has given strict directions to avoid the cheating of Corona patients. However, it has come to the light that some private hospitals are charging heavy bills and cheating the patients. When former mayor Sandip Joshi came to know about it, he appealed to the people to lodge complaints.

After his follow-up the original bill of Rs 5.30 lakh of one patient has been reduced to Rs 2.50 lakh. On Thursday several persons lodged the complaint regarding inflated bills. Krutika Somesh Diyani was admitted to a private hospital for four days. The hospital charged Rs 5.30 lakh as four-day bill. On receiving the complaint Joshi verified it and found that that the concerned patients was cheated. He contacted the hospital administration immediately and in return, they accepted their mistake. Even after the government's clear directions, the private hospitals don't follow the 80:20 ratio of reservation. The municipal corporation has also appointed auditors in each hospital to audit the bills but it is found that the hospital administration is hardly bothered about it and continue to charge excess bill. The received complaints have been forwarded to NMC additional commissioner Jalaj Sharma for further action.
